Not just for a trophy, but for a purpose.

The Rooh Arts & Culture Society wants to bring Bhangra and Giddha to a stage in British Columbia every year, and gives the year's proceeds back to the community that fills it.

The competition

Our Mission

Teams from across the world rehearse for months, then meet on one stage. We’re building a Bhangra and Giddha circuit that brings teams together, not just against each other, so the next generation grows up proud of their culture and eager to carry it forward.

How it works

Three movements, every season

A competition is only as strong as the community around it. Here is the whole loop, from the first rehearsal to the final cheque.

  1. 01

    We fundraise in the community

Fundraising events, sponsors, local businesses and the generosity of our audience make the show possible. Every dollar raised in the room stays in the work.

  2. 02

    We host the competition

Dancers from many teams share one stage, competing with energy and cheering each other on.

  3. 03

    The majority goes to charity

After the hall is swept, the majority of our net proceeds are donated to a charitable cause chosen by the Society each year.

Give back

Your support keeps the rhythm going

The majority of what we raise each year is donated to a charitable cause. Every contribution, large or small, reaches the floor.
